How to Repair a Simple Broken Wood Chair

Oh my!!! I found this old chair in a pile of free yard sale leftovers at the curb!
I love it just the way it is in its own worn state.
Well, except for the broken back piece.
But it was an easy fix!

Where it was broken was a clean break and none of the screws were missing.

Just two repairs were needed.
1. The top where it was broken at the screw.
2. The bottom that attached to the seat.

Putting back together was easy by simply gluing the broken wood first, and clamping it. Then the seat portion needed the screw removed and the back piece glued to the seat. Following that, replaced the screw and finally clamped that too.

Allowing the glue and clamps to set for a day... about 24 hours was enough to do the job.

And that little cutie "pah-toody" chair is just fine again!

I love the shape of this chair.

It's a keeper!!!
