Woodland Cloth Ornaments: Home for Christmas Event

It's exciting to be participating in the "Home for Christmas" event hosted by Hometalk.com and CountryLiving.com!

I'm sharing a very easy cloth ornament craft.

We're decorating our home for Christmas with the vintage and rustic woodland theme this year. Very much "Adirondacks" style, where I came from. And after making some pretty gift tags with deer and elk illustrations from the Graphics Fairy, I thought the images would look amazing on the tree as well.

Once I adjusted the graphic sizes to fit within cloth ornaments approximately 3" wide, I was able to allow ten vintage images on one page. Then printed them out on a sheet of iron on transfer paper.

I drew various shapes onto two layers of fabric to cut out and sew them together for the ornaments.

Once each of the shapes was cut out, I trimmed the images to fit in the center of each and ironed them on.

The graphics remained very crisp looking on the cloth.

I used twine for a hanging loop, sewn into the middle of the front and back fabric pieces with polyfill stuffed inside. Just like mini pillows.

Then I allowed the edges to fray a little bit.
Aren't the graphics pretty?

This deer head in a wreath is especially nice for Christmas.

And so is this one.

The ornaments are a perfect touch on the Christmas tree.

The entire theme came together with cozy faux furs, pine cones, and berries.

And more berries.

It was fun to make this easy Christmas craft for Hometalk and Country Living during their special event this year!

Come along and check out the rest of the blog hop!
